Cholar Dal

Ingredients

1 cup gram dal
Grated ginger
Fresh coconut sliced
7 8  raisins
7 8 cashewnut
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 pinch asaefotida
2 bayleaf
2 red chili
2 cloves
2 green cardamom
2 cinnamon stick
3 green chili slit
2 tablespoons ghee
2 tablespoons cooking oil
Water

Method

Soak gram dal for 30 minutes
Add 2 1/2 ltr water  in gram dal, turmeric powder and salt  pressure cook it on 7 8 whistle

Heat oil n ghee in pan n roast coconut, cashew n raisins  remove it in plate

In same pan add cumin seeds, asaefotida,  bayleaf, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger,  red chili n saute for 20seconds

Add boiled gramdal in pan add roasted cashew, coconut n raisins

Add green chili, sugar in half cup of water n pour in dal
Cover lid n cook dal for 5 minutes

Serve hot with roti naan
