Batata Bhaji

aloo bhaji or potato bhaji or batata bhaji is a veg curry recipe made using boiled potatoes. The boiled potatoes are sauteed in some spices, herbs and served as a side dish.

This actually is a maharashtrian style of making batata bhaji but this particular recipe method is a common style of making aloo bhaji in south india too…

Ingredients:-

3 potatoes
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 sprig curry leaves
4 roughly chopped green chillies
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
3 tablespoons cooking oil

Method:-

Boil and peeled potatoes, cut it into small pieces.

Heat oil in pan, crackle mustard seeds and curry leaves when seeds stop crackling add green chillies and saute for 15seconds.

Add salt and turmeric powder mix it then add potatoes with 1/2 cup water and mix it well. Cover the lid n cook till sabzi get little dry.

Batata bhaji is ready to serve, serve this with hot puris and garlic or peanut chutney.
