Achwani
Achwani for new born baby mother. I remember those days when I was in hospital n alina my new born baby girl was in my arms. My mother in law made this healthy recipe for me at that time. I’ll talk a bit about “Achwani”, which is a healthy and nutritious sweet concoction of dry fruits taken with milk consumed by new mothers after giving birth. U can store this in refrigerator for 15days but best way is to eat on the spot.
Ingredients:-
150 gm grated or small pieces jaggery
50 gm fox nuts (makhane)
50 gm almonds (badam)
50 gm cashewnuts(kaju)
2 tablespoons watermelon seeds (magaz)
2 tablespoons chopped dried dates
2 tablespoons grated dried coconut
1/2 teaspoon ajwain
125 ml water
1/2 cup pure clarified butter
Method:-
Heat clarified butter in deep wok. Fry fox nuts in heated ghee when it's done transfer it to a plate.
Fry almonds, cashewnuts and watermelon seeds for minute on high flame. Transfer it to a plate.
Now in same kadhai add jaggery n saute for minute on low flame.
Add water in it and keep sauteing till jaggery dissolve.
Add coconut, dates and ajwain in it and bring it to boil.
Add fried fox nuts, cashews, almonds magaz and cook for minute on low flame. Switch off the flame. Let it cool down on room temperature.
Serve this in bowl and give it to mother of new born baby.
