Bharwa Karela Banane Ka Tarika
A lot of people I know don’t like karela.. including my husband and daughter. The main reason why people dislike this vegetable because of its bitterness. Karela needs to be prepared carefully otherwise the curry might turn bitter and spoil all the taste. That’s why I am sharing a detailed recipe of Stuffed Karela that you would love. Just follow the steps as I have made it and trust me you will not feel bitter taste at all.

Ingredients:-
500gm Bitter Gourd (Karela)
5 tblespn Gram Flour (Besan)
20-25gm Tamarind (Imli)
2 tblespn Grated Jaggery (gud)
1 tsp Cumin Powder (Zeera Powder)
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch Powder)
1 tsp Whole Spice Powder (Garam Masala Powder )
1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi Powder)
Salt to taste + 1 tsp (Namak)
4-5 tblespns Water (Pani)
5 tblespn Oil
Method:-
Peel bitter gourd, cut the sides and vertical cut on each bitter gourd. Remove seeds from all.Rub salt on all over bitter gourd. Keep aside for 15minutes.
Soak tamarind in water for 15minutes.
Now wash bitter gourd 3times in water/running water. Wash it well. Keep on absorbing paper to remove all water or you can use kitchen towel to dry. Let it dry.
Strain soaked tamarind. Add jaggery in it and mix it well until jaggery dissolve.
When jaggery dissolve, add cumin powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and salt, Mix well.
Add gram flour n mix until you see the thick paste. Make sure there is no lumps.
Now stuff mixture in bitter gourd.
Heat oil in pan. Put all stuffed bitter gourd in heated oil. Cover the lid and cook it on low flame for 5minutes.
After 5minutes, flip and again cover and fry it for 5 to 7minutes on low flame.
For last 2minutes fry it on high flame until bitter gourd shrink and brown in color.
Transfer in plate. Stuffed Bitter is ready to eat.
Serve hot with dal rice😋.
