Makai Ka Chivda - Cornflakes Chivda - Diwali Special Recipes
Makai Ka Chivda or Cornflakes Chivda, easy to make, healthy snack or namkeen recipe for Diwali festival. During the diwali festive season, I makes many different chivda recipes. This is a sweet, savory and tangy cornflakes chivda. This is a delicious Indian recipe served as a Snacks. Here I have used the variety of dried yellow cornflakes. These are deep fried to make the chivda. They are also known as corn poha or makai poha. You get them easily in any indian groceries shop.
Ingredients:-
2 cups Cornflakes (Not the ready to eat cereal cornflakes)
1/3 cup Raw Peanuts
10 nos Cashewnuts
10 nos Almonds
1 tablespoon Raisins
2 tablespoons sliced Dry Coconut
Some Curry Leaves
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
1 teaspoon Mango Powder
Oil for deep fry + 2tablespoon Oil
Method:-
Heat oil in deep wok, Put cornflakes in heated oil and fry till it done crispy. Transfer it on absorbing paper.
Fry raw peanuts in same heated oil. Fry for minute on high flame or till it done Transfer it on absorbing paper. Switch off the flame.
Heat 2tablespoons of cooking oil in another wok, add curry leaves in it. When curry leaves stop crackling Add coconut, cashewnuts, almonds and saute for few seconds on low flame.
Add fried peanuts and raisins mix it.
Add turmeric powder and mix it and cook it for few seconds on low flame.
Add salt, sugar and mango powder. Gently mix it really well.
